Russia is a nation that is located in Eurasia and it occupies about 40% of Europe. Russia also extends across the entire northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world with various kinds of landforms and environments.

Russia also has the largest reserves of energy and mineral resources in the world and as such, it is considered to be an energy superpower. Russia has about 25% of the unfrozen fresh water on earth.

What’s more, it is also the country with the largest forest reserves in the world. It has about 142 million people living on its land and the land area of Russia is about 1/8th of the world’s land area.

Moscow is the capital city of Russia and it is also the country’s largest city. Saint Petersburg is one other largest city in Russia.

The products that Russia exports to other countries consist of timber, metals, natural gas, oil, etc. About 3/4th of its population are living in urban areas and the remaining people live in the rural regions.

About one hundred languages are spoken in Russia and there are about one hundred and sixty ethnic groups in the country. The religions that are followed by the Russians are Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism.
